Meet your Artists

  • Lauren Maureen

    Owner (She/Her)

Lauren is a tattoo artist (formerly a piercer) and the owner of Emerald Sun Studios.

She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and received a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture. Interior Architecture is fascinating, but she is much more fulfilled tattooing and running her business!

She started piercing at the end of 2019 and became a business owner during 2021. Now that she has Audrey and Dylan piercing full time, she can focus more of her creative energy on tattooing! While she is interested in trying her hand at all styles, eventually she’d like to focus on a neotraditional and art-nouveau style. She is very proud of her team and the high-quality services they provide. They hold themselves to a high standard by consistently continuing their education so that they can provide their clients with the safest experience.

Outside of work she loves trail running, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family and her partner. She’s also obsessed with her cat. Shout out to the Sunshine girl (^•ܫ•^).

  • Audrey Radd

    Senior Piercer (She/They)

Audrey is the senior piercer for Emerald Sun Studios, and works at both the Jackson and Howell locations. She is a mom of two little girls and specializes in kids piercings. She’s been piercing professionally for over 3 years.

She grew up in Jackson, is licensed in massage therapy and bodywork, and spent 15 years in the medical field prior to piercing. She worked as a CNA, taught anatomy during college, and majored in biology with a minor in environmental science. She apprenticed her piercing career under her mentor Lauren Maureen, owner of Emerald Sun Studios.

To Audrey, piercing is part of the human experience. It has been a rite of passage in many cultures throughout history, and she wants to provide a safe and comfortable environment for us to pursue this tradition. She prioritizes the health and education of her clients, to ensure that they know how to care for for their piercings in the long term!

  • Dylan Sodt

    Piercer (He/They)

Dylan is the Lead Piercer for Emerald Sun Studios Jackson. He works full time at our Jackson location and part time at our Howell location. He began piercing in November of 2023, and is focused on providing our clients with a space where they feel comfortable and cared for throughout their piercing journey.

He is a born and raised Jackson native, and prides himself on working to help organize and empower the communities that surround him. He has ten years of experience in customer service from managing restaurants to selling wine. His communities value him for his kindness, empathy, and creativity. He attended college for business management and later engineering, but ultimately found his home as a piercer. He’s a very talented home cook, a massive nerd about rocketry, and he loves antique stores. He apprenticed as a piercer under Audrey, Danni, and Lauren.

He loves being a piercer because he has the opportunity every day to create a caring and encompassing environment for clients. Facilitating piercing as a means of healing and growth allows him to connect with clients on a deeper level, and helps him to grow as an authentic individual as well. He will always advocate for the highest standards of quality and education throughout his clients piercing journey.

  • Danni Marie

    Piercer (She/Her)

Danni Marie has been in the piercing industry for 10yrs. She works part time at our Howell location. She’s trained in all piercings (excluding male Genitalia) and continues to further her education by attending the yearly APP Conference in Los Vegas. She enjoys preforming ear curations and symmetrical piercings.

She takes her job very seriously and believes everyone deserves a well done piercing with high quality jewelry. Proper steps in sterilization, procedure, and aftercare are all important parts of getting a piercing to heal correctly. She’s dedicated to her clients and here for them every step of the way through the healing process.
